Florian Leonhard Fine Violins Joins Classic Cello 2026 as Official Sponsor
Led by master luthier Florian Leonhard, whose workshop is recognised as one of the foremost institutions for instrument authentication, restoration, and bespoke violin and cello making, the company has long been a trusted name among leading soloists, conservatoires, and orchestras internationally.
Now, as part of their sponsorship, Florian Leonhard Fine Violins will award one of the competition’s most coveted Special Prizes: a two-year loan of a professional-grade cello from the Florian Leonhard Fellowship. This remarkable opportunity will allow the eventual champion to perform, record, and compete using an instrument of rare quality, which is an asset that can significantly shape the trajectory of a professional career.
“We are delighted to support the next generation of cellists through this important partnership,” said Florian Leonhard. “Providing talented musicians with access to fine instruments is a responsibility we take seriously, and Classic Cello offers a platform truly deserving of such support!”
Taking place from the 26th of March to the 6th April 2026 at London’s Royal College of Music, Classic Cello 2026 will welcome 40 outstanding performers selected through an international audition process. Over three competitive rounds, including a Final with the Philharmonia Orchestra, London, participants will compete for over €130,000 in prizes and awards.
Through this sponsorship, Florian Leonhard Fine Violins are reaffirming their commitment to nurturing musical talent and sustaining the highest standards of classical artistry, while supporting Classic Cello’s mission to promote the finest new stars in the world of cello music.
