Registration Process for Classic Cello 2026 Officially Closed as Contest Draws Global Interest
Taking place from the 26th of March to the 6th April 2026 at London's prestigious Royal College of Music , the competition, organized by CMDI Group , will bring together 40 outstanding cellists for the largest standalone cello contest ever held in the United Kingdom. With over €130,000 in the prize fund , including a €50,000 First Prize , and a Final Round featuring the Philharmonia Orchestra, London under conductor Tomàs Grau , Classic Cello 2026 promises to be a true showcase of artistry and international musical excellence.
The 2026 edition will unfold under the guidance of Artistic Director and Jury Chairman Alexander Chaushian , and will be judged by an esteemed 11-member international jury featuring Julian Lloyd Webber, Deborah Borda, Michael Haefliger, Florian Leonhard, Angela Dixon, Kathryn Enticott, Ursula Haselböck, James Williams, Paul Hughes, Dorran Alibaud, and Chaushian himself.
Following the groundbreaking global response to the call for contestants, our Selection Committee will now begin the careful and detailed process of reviewing all submitted applications.
