Talent Norge Partners with Classic Cello 2026 as Official Sponsor
Founded by Norway’s Ministry of Culture and Equality, Talent Norge supports high-level talent development programmes across the country, nurturing artists who go on to become influential voices in the international arts arena. Their chief mission of providing promising talents with the structure, resources, and visibility needed to flourish, aligns seamlessly with Classic Cello’s goals, making this an ideal collaboration for the two entities.
As part of their sponsorship, Talent Norge will present a dedicated Special Prize in the form of a NOK 30,000 award recognising an outstanding participant of the competition. This prize not only offers meaningful financial support but also stands as an endorsement from one of Scandinavia’s most respected cultural organisations.
Set to take place at the Royal College of Music, London, from the 26th of March to the 6th of April 2026, Classic Cello will invite 40 gifted cellists to compete over three rounds for over €130,000 in prizes, culminating in a Final Round performance with the Philharmonia Orchestra, London, under the baton of Tomàs Grau. Led by Artistic Director Alexander Chaushian, and with an elite jury panel featuring leading figures from across the classical music industry, the competition stands as one of the most significant global platforms for cellists worldwide.
With Talent Norge now joining sponsors including Larsen Strings, and Florian Leonhard Fine Violins, Classic Cello 2026 is supported by an exceptional network of cultural leaders committed to empowering artists. This partnership strengthens the competition’s international reach and reinforces its mission to elevate outstanding cellists onto the world stage.
